traceless materials is a circular bioeconomy startup offering a holistically sustainable alternative to conventional plastics and bioplastics
A DISRUPTIVE SOLUTION FOR THE PLASTIC POLLUTION
Plastic is a cheap, versatile, useful material that is an essential part of our everyday life. But awareness for its challenges and therefore demand for alternative solutions is rising.
Currently available alternatives, based on alternative materials, recycled plastics or conventional bioplastics, pose challenges for certain product applications or the environment, if they are not correctly disposed of.
traceless offers an innovative sustainable solution as it has been developed for the biological cycle with all impact indicators in mind!
FOR A FUTURE WITHOUT PLASTIC POLLUTION
85% of all plastics ever produced worldwide are still in landfills or pollute our oceans.
We address this global challenge with our sustainable alternative to single-use plastics.
TRACELESS MATERIALS
Using our innovative, patent pending technology we are able to manufacture traceless in three different materials: a flexible film, a moldable plast and a sprayable solution for coatings.
traceless film
Our film has mechanical properties comparable to PLA and can be casted, dyed, printed and heat-sealed. It has a tensile strength comparable to LDPE and PLA and its elasticity can be engineered with natural, non-harmful softeners for flexibility.
traceless plast
Our hard plastic alternative has mechanical properties comparable to LDPE and can be extruded, injection moulded, printed, dyed and more. It already has a relatively high elasticity without additives, so that no further softeners are needed. In addition, it has a relatively high tensile strength, comparable to PLA.
traceless coat
Our protective coating can be casted or coated, for example on paper or cardboard. It has vast application potential as it is storage-stable, heat-sealable, water-repellent and non-toxic.
BEYOND THE SCALE OF BIOPLASTICS
In terms of sustainability, traceless materials are one step ahead of conventional bioplastics. They‘re not only bio-based, but even based on biological residues.
For biodegradation, they don‘t need industrial composting conditions, but are 100% home compostable.
Last but not least, produced on an industrial scale, traceless is competitively priced with virgin plastics in the EU.
The key for traceless’ excellent compostability lies in its natural ingredients: Unlike many bioplastics, our materials are not based on polymers that are chemically modified or synthetically polymerized.
Instead, we simply make use of natural polymers – Those polymers that nature has already designed itself. That’s why microorganisms out there already know how to handle them, and can easily digest them.
Depending on the conditions and the thickness of the material, composting takes only 2-9 weeks.

MATERIALS DESIGNED FOR NATURE
Using our innovative, patent pending technology and a circular economy approach, we are able to transform agricultural industry residues into our novel materials: traceless film, traceless plast and traceless coat.
THREE MATERIALS – ENDLESS APPLICATIONS
Our materials are ready to replace plastics in a wide range of single-use applications. All products made of traceless materials degrade under natural composting conditions and are free of hazardous additives or solvents.

DESIGNED FOR THE BIOLOGICAL CYCLE
Taking nature as an example, traceless materials are able to integrate into natural material cycles – just like plants and other natural materials. Follow traceless materials’ way through the biological cycle, and see how they truly leave no trace:
AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY RESIDUES
We use left overs from agricultural industries, like starch or brewery residues as a raw material. This saves not only money and energy, but also valuable agricultural land for food production
TRACELESS TECHNOLOGY
Using our innovative, patent pending technology we transform the raw material into our base material in liquid or dry form
TRACELESS MATERIALS: FILM, PLAST, COAT
Out of our base material we manufacture alternatives for plastic films, hard plastics and coatings
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
traceless materials are particulary suitable for products that are used only once, like single-use packagings, products with high abrasions that end up in nature and products in close contact with humans end & beginning of the traceless lifecycle
Natural composting conditions break traceless products down in 2-9 weeks, depending on their thickness. Disposed in other waste streams, traceless won’t affect recycling or treatment processes
DISPOSAL & BIODEGRADATION
ORGANIC NUTRIENT
Through composting, traceless materials become a source of nutrition, without leaving a trace!
