The result: Solinatra – a biomaterial that can be used for products and packaging and then safely composted with zero contamination. Oh… and it’s manufactured from 100% plant-based materials sourced from agricultural byproducts.

The transition towards bioplastics is in its earliest phase. Other ‘compostable’ plastics break down but still leave microplastics. The current regulatory standard does not go far enough – it requires only for residual microplastics to be less than 2mm in size.
Our challenge has been to develop a replacement material that has none of these negative impacts on our planet. And that means setting our own standards that far exceed current regulation regarding residual plastics.
Our Solution
The way we see it, for a material to address the challenges outlined above, it has to be truly sustainable, truly compostable – with no residual microplastics. A healthy, safe and reliable alternative that maintains the benefits plastic offers.
Solinatra behaves and feels like traditional plastic – it can be injection moulded, and it can be used for many of the purposes for which we currently use plastic.
