I’M GREEN™ BIO-BASED

I’m greenTM, bio-based and made from sugarcane, a renewable resource.
I represent a better use of natural resources and I’m here to help reduce CO2 emissions!

I’m made from
FROM SUGARCANE
I’M RENEWABLE
The I’m greenTM bio-based products are made from renewable source, the ethanol sugarcane. Replacing fossil fuels with a renewable feedstock significantly contributes to reducing the overall greenhouse gas emissions of the plastics value chain. As our I’m greenTM bio-based produtcts are drop-in, it does not require investment in new plastics-converting machines.

I’M GREEN™ BIO-BASED POLYETHYLENE

I’m the renewable alternative to polyethylene, a thermoplastic resin widely used in products for consumer goods packaging such as food and beverages, personal and home care products, toys, trash cans and plastic bags. Our portfolio features approximately 40 grades in the HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE families.

I’m greenTM bio-based polyethylene can be used in rigid and flexible applications already consolidated in the market, as well as in expanded plastics. When it reaches the end of its useful life, I’m greenTM bio-based polyethylene can be recycled just like conventional polyethylene.

I’M GREEN™ BIO-BASED EVA

EVA is used in various sectors, and we have an alternative that is made from sugarcane and has a better impact. I’m green™ bio-based EVA applications are a sustainable solution for applications in footwear, adhesives, films, toys, wires, cables, tatami, and general foams.

PE WAX I’M GREEN™ BIO-BASED

I’m green bio-based polyethylene wax is a product that offers lower carbon footprint as it comes from sugar cane. It’s a sustainable solution that complements Braskem’s portfolio offer for multiple markets, such as adhesives, cosmetics, coatings and masterbatches.

DID YOU KNOW THAT MY RENEWABLE CONTENT CAN BE CERTIFIED?
There are various certifying bodies in Europe, the United States, and Asia that can verify the renewable content of a material or product based on the ASTM D6866 standard.

All I’m greenTM bio-based products can be submitted to such analysis.

The percentage of renewable content is validated using tests to date the product’s carbon 14 isotope, which is the same process used to verify the age of fossils in archaeology.

The carbon in our resins is typically not more than a year old, whereas the carbon in conventional fossil plastics typically dates back roughly a hundred million of years.

The support provided by Braskem’s technical teams during the product development phase ensures shorter certification times for clients and a high level of renewable content in the finished goods.
