NuPlastiQ®

One World. One Market. One Source. BPX.One

BioLogiQ’s NuPlastiQ® BioPolymer is a unique type of thermoplastic resin made with our proprietary process that converts high crystalline starch powder into a low crystalline (mostly amorphous) plastic resin.

NuPlastiQ BioPolymer and BioBlend Resins reduce fossil fuel-based plastic use and greenhouse gas emissions. They also maintain or even enhance the performance of both traditional plastics and newer biodegradable biopolymers.

NuPlastiQ has many properties that are desirable for manufacturing a variety of products, including films and bags, injection molded parts, blow-molded bottles, and thermoformed parts.

NuPlastiQ is made from annually renewable agricultural resources such as potatoes, corn, and cassava. For example, besides industrially manufactured starch, we use starch that remains after processing potatoes into potato chips and french fries. Globally, 0.4% of the weight of all potatoes grown is turned into starch that is not used for human consumption.

NuPlastiQ must be blended with other plastic resins, including both fossil-fuel and bio-based materials. (see NuPlastiQ Website).

NuPlastiQ Has Been TUV OK Certified.

While extremely stable in normal use, because of its natural, starch-based origin, BioLogiQ’s NuPlastiQ is highly susceptible to biodegradation by enzymatic reactions caused by the introduction of humidity (water) and bacteria or other microorganisms. BioLogiQ’s NuPlastiQ has been tested to EN 13432 and ASTM D-6400 and has received TUV OK Compost Industrial certification.
