Thanks to our innovative strength and pioneering spirit, we continue to set new standards and strengthen our position as a technology leader in the strapping industry.

Continuous Sustainability
Since 2008, we have produced our high quality plastic strapping material in one of the most modern production plants in Europe, located in Muckental not far away from the company Headquarters. Right from the beginning, sustainability was a key factor in the planning, construction and operation of the plant in Muckental.

Several extrusion lines are in fully-automated operation around the clock producing polypropylene (PP), polyester (PET) and polylactid (Eco-strap) strapping materials. The strap ranges in width between 5 and 15.5 mm and is suitable for use in all strapping machines independent of machine type or manufacturer. Mosca deals with the increasing customer demands for sustainability in various ways.

Our Eco-Strap – the bio strap
Plastics from renewable resources are coming more and more into the focus of the packaging industry. As the world’s first strapping material manufacturer, Mosca took up this challenge. With our Eco-Strap which is produced of the natural material polylacid acid (PLA), we have already made the first step in this direction. Currently the Eco-Strap is available in a strap width of 5 mm, other dimensions in 8 and 12 mm will nearly be launched.

Using biobased plastics extensively minimizes the fossil fuel consumption. This is accompanied by a significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. A further advantage of this raw material is that it is fully compostable. After 12 weeks, our Eco-Strap is completely degraded under the conditions of an industrial composting facility.

A new milestone in the strapping industry has been set with the launch of our biological Eco-Strap. In fact, a complete conversion to packaging material made of bioplastics will still last some more years – but for Mosca the future has already begun!
