FuturaMat

One World. One Market. One Source. BPX.One

FuturaMat develops, produces and markets bioplastics and functional materials for companies looking to differentiate through eco-responsibility and environmental innovation. They develop and introduce bioplastics into the global market to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gasses and to provide an alternative to the usage of fossil resources in the development of products on a wide scale.

From the research labs of Valagro, to the production floor, FuturaMat is passionate about developing innovative uses of renewable resources in the plastics industry. FuturaMat works closely with partners, clients and researchers to ensure that we delivery both products and services of the highest quality. The new technologies implemented by FuturaMat have been developed in the laboratories of Valagro, a leading R & D platform for research into new uses of renewable resources. The objective is to propose innovative solutions that meet both the needs of performance and environmental protection. Their products include:

BioFibra: 100% derived from renewable resources (biopolymers, wood flour and additives of vegetable origin), the references of the BioFibra® range are biosourced and compostable. The reference BF-LHE01 is labeled OK Compost®. BioFibra® materials are ideal for processing techniques such as injection, extrusion or thermoforming, and are suitable for applications in horticulture, packaging and, more generally, for disposable technical parts. The woods used (beech and spruce) are all of from European origin and are certified by the PEFC* program.

BioMine: These materials are made from biopolymers of vegetable origin associed with mineral charges. Without any petrochemical resource, these compounds offer a wide stiffness while providing a highly specific and a qualitative touch (soft touch). They are suitable for injection molding and are recommended for applications in agriculture, horticulture, construction, catering, and pieces of equipment.

BioCérès: A true alloy of wheat flour and a biodegradable polymer, BioCérès® products are biobased and compostable. One reference carries the OK Compost® and the OK Biobased® labels. With the possibility of creating products from resources that are renewable, Bioceres® products are ideal for calendering, thermoforming and injection molding transformation techniques and are especially recommended for application in the fields of horticulture, packaging and, more generally, for disposable technical parts.

Their manufacturing facility is located near Poitiers, and the headquarters is in Dissay, France. The company was started in 2005.
