Our early ideations of Cruz Foam started in the ocean, while surfing. Literally. Like us, if you spend time in nature, you know first hand that plastics are having a profound and irreversible effect on our oceans. Therefore, reduction of plastic waste became our mission.

Our Solutions
PACKAGING REIMAGINED BY NATURE
Our foam utilizes a bio-polymer called Chitin, a naturally occurring waste product from the seafood industry. This aquaculture waste represents the second most abundant bio-polymer on the planet, which is currently routed almost entirely back to landfill. Chitin can also be derived from insects, fungi, and other crustaceans. Using Chitin in our patents-pending, water based technology, Cruz Foam is able to transform this abundant bio-polymer into a highly engineered, structural foam, which is compostable, producing benign organic waste.

Are you looking for guilt free protective packaging? Cruz foam is on a mission to replace harmful Styrofoam while offering all the same performance. Cruz Foam can be sold at the same price, at scale, as it’s petroleum-based counterparts. Initial target markets for our packaging solutions include electronics, appliances, and fragile consumer packaged goods.

Derived from all naturally occurring materials, our products are developed to provide protection and performance, but without the adverse impacts on our environment. Cruz Foam breaks down in 60 sixty days, with a 97.9% average biodegradation in soil, and with no adverse effects on the quality of the compost after degrading. Cruz Foam is ASTM D6400 and D6868 certified compostable, and is USDA Bio-based Preferred. Our sustainable materials biodegrade to produce high-quality organic waste, which can be used as nutrient rich compost and biogas used for electricity.
