Cruz Foam can help you transition to compostable foam packaging solutions. We can replace the most harmful plastic polystyrene foam (aka “Styrofoam”) in your supply chain with our novel chitin technology, while offering the same performance and cost.
Our foam utilizes a bio-polymer called Chitin, a naturally occurring waste product from the seafood industry. This aquaculture waste represents the second most abundant bio-polymer on the planet, which is currently routed almost entirely back to landfill. Chitin can also be derived from insects, fungi, and other crustaceans. Using Chitin in our patents-pending, water based technology, Cruz Foam is able to transform this abundant bio-polymer into a highly engineered, structural foam, which is compostable, producing benign organic waste.
